Share the Good News!

Each year our parents, students and teachers have the privilege of spreading the good news about Snellville Middle School.  I am stopped frequently by parents (and grandparents) who are proud their children attend our school.  There are only a few times in the school year when we can share our thoughts and be counted.  Last year, only 90 out of 900 parents completed these important surveys.  We need more of our parents to participate this year and represent Snellville Middle.  This is our time to share it!

Here are a few highlights from our few short weeks of the 2015-2016 school year.

  • Celebrated over 100 “Rising Star” students for academic achievement or citizenship

  • Over 10,000  Starbuck points from our PBIS program have been given to recognize students for positive behavior

  • Conducted nearly 100 student-led conferences to help students become responsible leaders in their education.

  • Parent Input and Information Meetings held this year: Title I Planning Meeting, First Time Middle Schooler Parent Meeting, Autumn Chats, Lunch and Learn, Curriculum Night

  • Facilitated our first Snellville Middle Student Leadership Academy of the year

  • Our Honors Orchestra was invited to perform at the Governor’s Mansion in December

  • Our Junior Leadership Corp will march in the Veterans Day Parade in Atlanta

  • 97% of our students access and use technology resources such as E-CLASS weekly

  • Thousands of dollars of goods and services have been provided by our Community Business partners to support our school
