The Principal’s Update: February

Since my last update our students have been very busy leading and achieving!  First, I would like to once again congratulate our boys and girls basketball teams for an outstanding season.  Both of our basketball teams are regular season champions of the Eastern Division and were undefeated the entire regular season.  Our cheerleaders also did an outstanding job showing spirit and cheering on both teams all season long. Thank you, Ladies!

Our Fine Arts department will be participating in the Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) in February and March. Good Luck to our Band, Orchestra and Chorus departments!

Parents, I also look forward to seeing you during Early Release Conferences on February 24th and 25th.

We are doing marvelous things for our students at Snellville Middle! We will continue to challenge our students to become independent thinkers and life-long learners.  Please check our school calendar for the month of March. It is a very busy one!

Sincerely,

Katise Menchan

Principal

The Book Fair Is Coming!
February 22 - 26

The Scholastic Book Fair is a "Win-Win" for everyone!  We have a great selection of middle school new-releases and popular favorites! Encourage reading at home by purchasing high-interest books at a great price for your student.. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Snellville Middle School media program and help us add more books to our collection! Book fair flyers will be coming home next week so be sure to take a few minutes to preview the fair with your student.  We will be accepting cash, checks (made payable to SCHOLASTIC) and credit cards if a parent is present. Please e-mail Tiffanie Hitchcock if you have any questions  (tiffanie_hitchcock@gwinnett.k12.ga.us) See you at the fair!

Reminder about Deliveries to the Office

Please remember that, as stated in the Student Agenda, the front office does not accept items for delivery.  This includes PE clothes, athletic clothing/shoes, projects, cell phones, homework, instruments, books, cupcakes, balloons, flowers or any outside food.  This is part of our COMETS Be ready, Be responsible program and will help us limit the interruptions during academic time.

Stay Informed with the Parent Portal

If you are not already on the Parent Portal please stop by the office and sign up.   This awesome resource allows you to track your child's grades and attendance in real time from any computer.
