Dear Parents and Students:

Thank you so much for a successful school year!  On behalf of the faculty and staff at Snellville Middle we want to thank you for entrusting us each day with the education and development of your child.  It has been a pleasure serving you and your children this school year.

 

Our last day of school for students is Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

Algebra I Prep Course for Rising 8th Graders

​

To ensure that your student is successful in Algebra I, the Math Department has developed an Algebra I Prep Course.  This online course will help strengthen the essential prerequisite content knowledge for students enrolled in Algebra I during the 2017-2018 school year.     Click here for more details.

All Library Books Are Now Due

 

Library books were due on Wednesday, May 10th.   

Printed notices have been given to the students, but this information is also available through the Parent Portal.
Please encourage your student to locate and return all overdue items in order to clear their account.  Students who still have items on their account May 24th will not receive their report card in the mail.  The fee for a lost library book is $20.00 and may be paid in cash or a check made payable to Snellville Middle School.

End of Year Cafeteria Charges


Any charges on student's cafeteria account will need to be paid in full by Wednesday May 24th.  Students with outstanding balances will have report cards held until the charges are paid.

Comet Academy

Snellville Middle School will once again offer Comet Academy, a four-day program for our rising 6th graders this summer.  The dates are June 19-22, 2017, Monday-Thursday, from 8:00 am-4:00 pm.   Click here to download an informational flyer and here to download the registration form.

Stay Informed with the Parent Portal

 

If you are not already on the Parent Portal please stop by the office and sign up.   This awesome resource allows you to track your child's grades and attendance in real time from any computer.

Carnegie Unit Class Credit

​

Carnegie Unit forms have gone home with students who have the opportunity to receive high school credit in Algebra, Biology, and/or Physical Science. In order to receive credit, the student must turn in this form for each class. Forms must be returned by May 24th. Not turning in a form results in no credit being awarded. Attention SMS Families

Snellville Middle School will be undergoing HVAC construction from May 25 - July 14, 2017.

Summer office hours will be modified so visit snellvillemiddle.org for details.

 

 

Due to Gwinnett County software upgrades for ALL middle schools and high schools, the following will be unavailable

from June 1 – July 14, 2017:

  • new student registration/enrollment

  •  student withdrawals

  • student transfers

  • all record requests

Special Needs Scholarship/SB10

​

Parents of Special Needs students:   Please contact the special education department for questions regarding Georgia Special Needs Scholarship/SB10 and refer to the GCPS special education website to access the notification letter and application form. The deadline for receiving applications from parents is midnight June 2, 2017 in the special education office.
