We are so pleased to announce that one of our very own 8th grade students, Jonathan Bell, has been selected as a Georgia REACH scholar!

As a REACH scholar Jonathan will receive a significant 4 year college scholarship for any college in the state of Georgia. Additionally, Jonathan will be assigned a mentor and academic coach from 8th grade through 12th grade to encourage and coach him to realize his college goal.

Jonathan has proven himself to be a high-achieving scholar with a 92 average in 6th grade and 96 average in 7th grade, taking both Accelerated Math and Science both years. Currently, Jonathan is enrolled in Biology, Accelerated Algebra I, Spanish I, and HS Physical Science. During the REACH scholar interview, Jonathan  articulated very specifically his post-secondary and career goals. He was chosen as the number one candidate out of ten other scholars.

There will be a formal district recognition ceremony and media coverage in October for all of the REACH scholars in Gwinnett County!

Please join us in congratulating Jonathan on a well deserved accomplishment!!

WAY TO GO, Jonathan!
