The Principal’s Update: March

The month of March is already upon us and we are almost finished with our 3rd quarter of school.  Students will begin taking their district interim assessments the second week of March. Interim assessments help students and teachers to know where they are in their learning progress and if their learning is on track to reach mastery on the end of year final exams and/or standardized testing.  Please be sure to check your son or daughter’s teachers’ e-Class pages to find out more information and to help your child prepare for these important assessments.

We always have plenty to celebrate at Snellville Middle School.  Our band, orchestra and chorus students will participate in GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluation(LGPE) this month so let us wish them good luck.  Our Fine Arts department is second to none! Thank you to Mr. Turner, Ms. Donnaud and Mr. Smith!

Congratulations to our Science Fair Winners! Skyla Nelson, Katherine Lorenzo, Grace Kouassi, Autumn Roussel, Noelia Moreno and Jaidy Ceballos. Our Science Fair students all scored in the top 5 categories!  We are very proud of your accomplishments! Way to go!

5th Annual Black History Program

Thank you to all of our students who participated in our 5th Annual Black History Program on March 1st. Our students did an outstanding job!  It was truly a celebration of black history through art, poetry, drama, music, song, dance, and step. A special thank you to our teacher sponsors Ms. McLain, Ms. Rogers and Mr. Dallas!

STEAM (Science, Technology, Art & Math) Night

We are looking forward to our 3rd Annual STEAM Night on Thursday, March 7th at 5:30 p.m.  STEAM allows our students to connect their classroom learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and apply Art practices, elements, and design principles in their innovations. STEAM removes limitations and allows for student creativity and ingenuity.  Thank you to our Math, Science and Art teachers for encouraging our students to be innovators and showcase their learning in a unique way.
