Greetings Parents,

Thank you to all the parents/guardians that were able to make our student-led conferences. The students did an excellent job sharing their successes, areas of growth, and goals for the remainder of the year. The students truly benefit from this opportunity.

Next week we will start taking interim assessments. Please encourage your student to review as this assessment covers material from the beginning of the semester. The teachers use this assessment to determine areas each student needs to work on in addition to providing students feedback on their current progress. We will be taking the Milestone State Assessments after spring break, and this interim will help everyone understand what our students need to reach mastery. It is important that all of us work together for our students’ achievement, and you are a vital part of the team.
Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

A Message from Ms. Long
Dear Snellville Middle Parents and Students:
This year has been incredible! I do not have the words to describe our journey together this school year as a community and as a nation. I can say without a doubt that the Snellville Middle School community pulled together to make the best out of a challenging situation. During this pandemic, we all began to understand what it means to partner together in tough times. I sincerely want to thank all of our parents, students, teachers, and community members for being flexible, gracious and compassionate to one another. We have been and still are--ALL in this together!
As we begin to wrap up the school year, please be sure that your child is preparing for his or her final exams as well as completing any missing work. Final exams begin Monday, May 11th – May 15th, 2020. The final exam schedule for your child is located on our school website and on your child’s teachers’ eCLASS page. Be sure that your son or daughter is sitting in a quiet place with technology and is able to focus on the final exam to do his or her best as well as complete it in the allotted time.
We will also communicate information soon on how students will be able to return any loaner Chromebooks, school instruments and/or pick up any found student personal items. The schedule of information will allow for the drop off and/or pick up of items. The drop off/pick up schedule of information will abide by CDC guidelines for social distancing to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
On behalf of the faculty and staff at Snellville Middle we want to thank you for entrusting us each day with the education and development of your child.
I am grateful and feel truly blessed to be a part of such an amazing community.
I hope to see you during our community teacher and staff parade on Wednesday.
Yes, we really do miss the students!
Our last day of school for students is Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
